Charles A. Hendricks
President and Owner of Five Star Services, Inc.

Charles A. Hendricks, President and Owner of Five Star Services, Inc., is responsible for real estate development, feasibility studies, market analysis, land acquisitions, financial analysis, proformas and proposal packaging.

Mr. Hendricks earned the designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM®) when his final Thesis Management Plan was graded Pass Superior by the Institute of Real Estate Management. To achieve this highly regarded designation, candidates are evaluated on education, experience, ethical conduct, portfolio size, and professionalism.

Mr. Hendricks joined the family business (Hendricks, Inc.) in 1979 after graduating from college. He has held the positions of secretary, site manager, assistant manager, vice president, and president. He purchased Hendricks, Inc. in 1994 and officially changed the name to Hendricks Property Management Corp. In 2006, the company changed its name to Five Star Services, Inc.

Mr. Hendricks earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Dental/Zoology from Montana State University, Bozeman. His continuing education includes:

Ben Hendricks
Vice President, Self-Storage Operations

Ben has been with Five Star Services, Inc. since 1999 when he served on the maintenance team at Community Homes Apartments along with his older brother Jake. In 2005, Ben became the assistant manager of the Five Star Services, Self-Storage Division. He worked alongside his brother Jake performing daily operations, helping with marketing and advertising, and helped take care of many maintenance duties. Ben has attended the 2006 and 2009 North Dakota Self-Storage Association convention held in Bismarck, and more recently attended the fall 2009 National Self-Storage Association Convention and Trade Show held at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ben became Vice President of Storage Operations in 2007 working part-time through his undergraduate college career. Currently, Ben has been working full time for Five Star Services since January 2009. He holds various roles in this position which include daily operations, marketing, leasing, customer relations and maintenance supervision. Ben also performs research in cost analysis and feasibility of new storage management software, call centers, and potential property acquisitions. Ben has also played a pivotal role in new implementations into Five Star’s storage rental leases. These implementations better the security of the manager, owner, and tenant.

Ben is from the Fargo/Moorhead area and graduated from Fargo South High in 2003. Ben first began his undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where he was recruited to compete in Track & Field for the Golden Gophers. After one year in the Big-10, he opted to come home and finish his degree and collegiate Track career with the Bison at North Dakota State University. Ben graduated with honors, (Magna Cum Laude), from North Dakota State University in May 2008 earning his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing. Ben is also planning on attending graduate school in the field of Law.

 
 
 
Patty Hendricks

Patty has been involved with Five Star Services since the beginning. Of course, being married to the boss makes that happen. She has been Secretary, Administrative Assistant, Marketing for housing and storage. Patty’s background in housing stems from her family roots in Utah. She worked for her father before she met Chuck and then became Secretary for Five Star Services.

Patty enjoys working with self-storage when she is not dealing with their two youngest boys. Patty and Chuck have 4 boys, Jake is married to Kristi, and grandson – Jackson in Minneapolis, Ben graduated from NDSU in 2008, Sam and Willy are at home.

 
 
 
Bruce Senger
Property Operations Manager

Bruce joined the Five Star team on August 31, 2007. He oversees the site managers and maintenance staff at the apartment housing projects throughout North Dakota. Some of his duties include keeping up with Rural Development and HUD standards and relaying those concerns to the site team, corporate team and owners.

Bruce attended the ND Affordable Housing Coalition Conference in the Fall of 2007. He has earned a B.A. in sociology with a social work emphasis and a minor in psychology from NDSU.

Bruce previously worked in the wholesale distribution area for many years. He grew up on a dairy and small grains farm in central North Dakota.

Bruce and his wife Patty, a business analyst for Alltel, have two grown children.

De Ann Faust
Tenant & Financial Operations Manager

De Ann joined Five Star in May 2008. She manages accounts payable for the storage and apartment properties. In January, 2009 she is the manager for tenant operations for the housing properties, with some leasing duties. She conducts the screening and government verification process per the State and Federal housing guidelines.

De Ann has attended the HUD Today Workshop in July 2008 and 2009, the Fundamentals of Fair Housing Workshop, August 2008 in Fargo, HUD EIV Income Eligibility Workshop, August 2008, Multifamily Online Training, December 2008. De Ann has a two year accounting degree from Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Canby, Minnesota. De Ann previously worked at Medicare.

She was born and raised in West Central Minnesota before moving to Fargo. De Ann has three grown children and enjoy with her husband, Greg, living close to their grandchildren.

Mel Hendricks

Mel has been involved with Five Star Services, Inc. formerly HPMC, Inc. since its begining almost 40 years ago. Mel's expertise involves development advising within rental housing as well as self-storage facilities. Whether looking into new developments or property acquisitions, Mel is a key member of the Five Star team.

Mel and his wife Harriet have 3 children; Chuck, Paulette and Roxanne. Mel and Harriet enjoy their travels to Arizona from Fargo during the winter months.
